I've been making video games since Salamander on the C64, these days I'm having a go with AS3 to see how I get on making my own ideas for a change..

FightClub69's News

My latest game is a pretty radical style change for me... it's a cute puzzler featuring Olly the Octopus who is searching for a new home away from the tropical sharks.
Currently I'm seeking a sponsor, and of course I'll post it up on NG as soon as I can afterwards!

Just got sold, four week exclusive to sponsor so I'll publish it here asap after that!
Here's the trailer...

To all who celebrate it, Merry Christmas! To everyone else, Happy Holidays! To anyone still at work Commiserations!
Zombaby Bouncer finally got released to huge success everywhere except here and Kongregate... different strokes for different folks I reckon.
My new game has been renamed - "Fighter Patrol" sounds better and doesn't have the 'avoider game' connotations of "Reflex Fighter"... plus I just added a feature where you get up to three wing-men to help you through the missions so it's not a solo flight any more.
I have another 17 missions to implement and a fair amount of game-play balancing and tweaking to do, but it's progressing nicely and I expect to release in late January unless the sale takes longer than usual.

Merry Christmas!

The release of Zombaby Bouncer has been delayed due to tech problems on the sponsor's site. It's just gone live there so it should be here soon!
To fill in the gap, here's a screenshot from my latest project Fighter Patrol (still a work-in-progress!)

My Populous style game Aztec God Game is up on NewGrounds at last. Hope you like it!

Zombaby Bouncer (video in previous news article) has found a sponsor, is currently being translated and will be ready for viral in a week or so.

My next project is proving difficult, I've started four prototypes in a week and binned all but one of them... I'm hoping that one will turn into a good game!

Summoner is still progressing, but it's slooooow.

Summoner is not much closer to completion, it's stuck at 80% ish and awaiting inspiration for me to finish.
In the meantime I put together a fun little game called Zombaby Bouncer. There's a trailer for it on my site which I won't link here after the, let's say 'poor' reception of the trailer for Aztec God Game.

Zombaby Bouncer is currently in bidding, and should be released in November...

Aztec God Game will be on the sponsor's site from the 1st November and will be here on NG sometime during that week.

Aztec God Game has been sponsored by DwarfGames... expect to see it there pretty soon.

My next project is at about 80% complete, it's called Summoner and it's a nice simple concept given longevity via RPG style levelling and a huge variety of creatures on both sides of the battles. The art was done by the amazing FairyPoet who also collaborated on Shapely.

what's next?

After 18 months we've finally finished our world trip and come home to New Zealand.
It's been great seeing so many places - 24 countries in total - and experiencing so many different cultures... but somewhat suddenly we realised we were tired a lot of the time and not really enjoying it like we used to. Plus the money ran out :(
Time to go home.
I'm starting full-time games programming on Monday 18th September... Aztec God Game is currently in bidding and seems to be getting a fair bit of attention, so that will be my first release as a 'professional' flash developer (even though I wrote it whilst travelling around Europe, the USA and Central America!)
